Volunteers are at the heartbeat of all our operations. ABZ is 100% run by volunteers from multi-disciplinary fields, who dedicate their time, money and effort in order to achieve the mission of ‘creating brighter futures through books’.
Everyone has something they can offer to ABZ, so please get in touch and let’s discuss how you can help!
Your community can organise a book drive, a barbeque, a sporting event, a fundraising dinner, etc.
Schools, in addition to just donating (new or gently used) books, can also organise events to promote literacy, e.g. a read-a-thon, or they could hold a mufti day, a bike-a-thon etc.
ABZ would love to hear of any other interesting ideas you may have.
Literacy is a human right that should be made available to every child in the world, because being able to read and write is the key to accessing education and employment. ABZ is keen to partner with other organisations who share the same dream. In the words of an African proverb, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” So let us come together and discuss how a collaboration could result in mutually beneficial outcomes.
